The life and legend of the Scientist - Hotelier
... so why Parker 's?
At the end of the XVIII century the scientist George Parker Bidder, wealthy and original English scholar in marine biology, involved at the Biological Station of the Royal Villa, now known as Villa Comunale, reveals the old Hotel Tramontano of which he was a regular guest, making it, from then for decades to come, the elective destination for travelers arriving from Northern Europe, together with Italian tourists.
The years of World War II leave marks on the Parker 's, who after the war is reborn by an enthusiastic and brilliant Neapolitan professional, lawyer Francesco Paolo Avallone, who buys the property, which was almost at the time a bunch of ruins, returning it to its original splendor. Thirty years later, in 1980, the earthquake that devastates the Irpinia is reflected strongly on Naples.
The Parker's starts a new path of rebirth, preserving the furnishings and remodeling completely the building, under the auspices of the fine arts. Up to today's glories, five-star luxury, with loving attention to detail which the family Avallone, still today the only owner of the hotel, strictly preserves the structure.
The Grand Hotel Parker's every day brings to its guests great luxury, elegance and an ancient home tradition of the Naples Grand Tour.
